LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL

Mental Health First Aid
Registered charity 'Changing Horizons' was founded by Stuart Skinner; a long-serving Mental Health campaigner, consultant and Mental Health First Aid Instructor. He has worked on government and national mental health campaigns along with making numerous media appearances, including features in two high-profile BBC Documentaries. Stuart draws on his personal experiences of mental ill-health to further illustrate his talks and trainings that help participants gain a better understanding of mental health.. Stuart is also an experienced Expedition Leader and was awarded a Fellowship from the Winston Churchill Memorial trust to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail (all 2,179 miles of it) to promote the mental health benefits of outdoor activity. He is currently working with Expedition providers to deliver the MHFA course and campaigning to make the course compulsory in the outdoor education industry.

MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID

Mental Health First Aid is an educational course that teaches people how to identify, understand and help a person who may be developing a mental health issue. In the same way as we learn physical first aid, Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to recognise those crucial warning signs of mental ill health.

MHFA is a fully accredited course recognised in 26 countries Worldwide. We have experience delivering the MHFA course to a varied client base such as the RSPB, Camps International, World Challenge, Mind, schools, national charities and open courses for interested individuals.
